Restricted keyways vs hardware-store keys
A patented keyway cannot be copied at a big-box store. Extra keys only from an authorized dealer with written authorization from the registered keyholder. Housekeeper, contractor, or vendor keys stay on a log.
Pick, drill, and bump resistance is higher than builder grade. That is why the category exists. High-security locks, Grade 1 deadbolts.
Estate master keys
Family grand master. Housekeeping without primary suite or office. Grounds: equipment and exterior gates only. Equestrian: stables, tack, pasture. Map on paper, then pin. Written log of every key and cylinder.
Rekey updates holders on existing restricted cylinders. Replacement when leaving standard hardware or retiring worn high-security cores.
Smart locks and automation
